Audio compression algorhitms are pretty good because they use psychoacoustics to eliminate extra data so that the difference is not glaring, but it is there and it matters a lot when you get used to lossless, although I have to say, Apple Music is one of the better sounding streaming services even with lossy formats, their AAC conversions with apple digital masters are pretty stellar, which is why I started using it in the first place. I can compse a sntence tis way and yo're probaly going to be abl to read it but it is nt really te sme thing as a proper sentence.

The difference isn't immediately obvious to most people, that I agree with, but where the difference is, really, is in smaller stuff that makes up the bigger picture. So that's how I started listening to lossless. I thought it was the phone, the headphones, or the eq, and then it hit me that it's in mp3. So there I was, plugging in my headphones for an after-college ride home and the album just sounds off. So I converted it to 320 mp3 (with proper conversion methods, of course) and sort of forgot about it while I went to college and as the day went on. apple music preview on windows - any updates i only tried it for a bit and went back to itunes so i'm wondering if there have been any updates since release as i can't find any patch notes on MS store (not sure if they even have that feature). I tried to clean up some space and noticed that this one album was taking up a bit too much space, and turns out it was because it was lossless. Just a regular old Galaxy Gio with Sennheiser CX-300s. I did not believe lossless was that big of a deal back in the day, but I realized how different lossless is from an mp3 in a weird way.So, I accidentally uploaded Moon Shaped Pool in lossless to my phone and listened to it without any special equipment for a month pretty much non stop with no special equipment.
